Help!! Help Rebuilt motor wont turn over! Brand New Starter

Post by 1nastyR/t » Wed Mar 16, 2011 8:18 am

I have a 99 R/T Sedan just rebuilt the motor right before we insalled the motor we were able to turn it over by hand that's how we got the timing down..... Tried to start it all we got was a click, so we pulled the starter out tried to start the car the starter turned very slowly. So i bought a BRAND NEW starter from rock auto. I installed it today and same thing just a click i don't know what to do now please help!?!?!?!?

Check the battery cables to the starter, check the battery, replace it if you need to. I bet you it's a battery or a loose connection on one of the cables.

Yes, that would matter a lot. You need to connect the battery cables properly. That means the grounds are grounded, and positive wires are connected properly where they belong.

Go through the wiring harness and check to make sure you have spark.
