Quick question, 2.4head & 2.0head dohc

Post by wpgneon » Mon May 09, 2011 2:15 pm

I have both a 2.0 dohc and a 2.4 dohc. I wanna use the 2.4 head cuz it's in much better condition . The cams best used for performance is both intake And exhaust from 2.0? , or just the exhaust cam?
which requires flipping the cam magnet 180 degrees.

And should I be using the cams gears from 2.4, . I'm not sure and I'm getting head rebuild very soon .
Clearly using 2.4 bottom end this is for swap

2.4 and 2.0 heads are identical. theres a swap post on the big org that explains it all. but, you can use the 2.0 exhaust cam and the 2.4 intake cam and not flip the magnet.
It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!

I would have to say no they aren't. You have to look at the year each head was. Depending on the year, sure it'll bolt up to any block, but it may have an SRT/PT intake manifold bolt pattern and the SRT/PT exhaust manifold bolt pattern and ports. But generally if it was before 2000, then it's all the same. 2000-02 is where it's all confuzled.

not really alot of hp gain. and yes, as long as its a 01 or older 2.0 or 2.4 they have the same head. go with the exhaust cam and no magnet swapping.
