Working on a DOHC or 2.4L swap, or maybe you have some other idea and have some questions? Feel free to ask them here...

It's not even close to the same. Bed plate, no distributor just to name 2 right off the bat. 2 common things are same rear main seal and bore spacing. Beyond that there isn't much in common.

OK I apologize. what I meant is you can take a head from a 2.4/2.0 and bolt it onto a 2.2/2.5. You can also use the trans from an older era mopar 2.2/2.5 and use it on a 2.4/2.0 and vice versa. With the exception of the trans in a pt cruiser GT and SRT-4. They aren't swap-able.. unless you have some mediocre fabrication skills.

I wasn't trying to be exact when I stated that.. In general they bolt up the same, use almost the same mounts and are very easily swap-able..

How can a 2.2/2.5 bolt to a T350 and not to a T850 when you can bolt a T350 to a 2.4?
Please PM or email me if you see any issues with the site.

I just found this thread, and you are completely correct. You should be able to use the t850 on the 2.5/2.2 block. With just a small bracket. Una did it to his car a long time ago.

Technically the trans is larger in the SRT-4 than in the PT cruiser GT. People were finding out the automatic has a weak 4th gear in the PT while on boost. Clutch pak has fewer discs.. So they were finding wreaked SRT-4's and getting the tranny's to throw into the PTGT's. Found out they didn't fit. They bolt to the engine fine, but don't fit in the PT's compartment..

Isn't that why they used the Gertrag trans in the PT GT?
