i have a question, i have a spare 2.0 high output SOHC magnum motor sitting in my garage and i was curious to see if i could put motor in a 1998 didge neon r/t that originally has a 2.0 DOHC. and i if i can, what needs to be replaced and modified> or has anyone even done that yet? cause i thought i read that somewhere where poeple did, but cannot find it, all i find is for the srt swap, thanks

You can do the swap, its pretty easy. However, putting a SOHC (even the Magnum) engine in place of a DOHC engine is a step back (unless the DOHC engine is all done).

well the dohc thats in there has about 173,xxx miles on it, the water pump is bad, and needs a new timing belt, and other little things here and there, i have a spare magnum motor from my car when i did the srt swap in it, so looking at my options and what i can do and which is most cost effective.

Sounds like you have a good reason to do the swap. The hardest part is getting the magnum two-stage manifold to work properly, but it isn't that difficult.

Good point. Stay away from those pesky NGC engines.
