2.4 differences?

Working on a DOHC or 2.4L swap, or maybe you have some other idea and have some questions? Feel free to ask them here...

I was just wondering what the major differences were between the SRT 2.4 and the normal stratus 2.4? What internals could you take from the SRT and swap into the 2.4? And I was also wondering if an SRT crank would fit in a stratus 2.4?

The biggest difference are the pistons, rods, and crank. The SRT also has a different oiling system. You can use the pistons and rods. The SRT crank has an NGC crank trigger, which would not work in an SBEC engine. You can use the SRT oil pump and pan.

Look at this N/A 2.4L rebuild kit from Modern. It includes most of the SRT components that can be used on the N/A 2.4L.

Yea that's what I'm gonna be buying, but I bought the engine and the guy said it ran fine, but the teardown revealed a spun rod bearing, and the crank doesn't look to good. So I guess my actual question was about the crank, ill have to see if I can get it fixed. Thanks.

I don't have my spec sheets with me since im not home, but what valves would I be able to use in the 2.4 head? Iirc, the SRT were a little different.
