not to many people do the v6 swap cause you can get just as much power from the 2.4 seeing as how there really ain't much for aftermarket for the v6 now there are quite a few people with a v8 swap

The definition of a NEON
A great domestic compact car whose rapidly disappearing taillights are most typically seen through the windshields of Honda Civics, Chevy Cavaliers, and other assorted shitboxes.

Why do a big heavy V6 with LITTLE to NONE for performance parts? To be differient? Sure, I guess. But like BIGRAM said, you'd get just as much pwer, IF NOT MORE, from a 2.4 swap.

Good luck converting to RWD as well. Lots of custom fabricating to do it correct. Which will also CONSUME TIME AND MONEY!

But if you can fabricate and have the time and the money, go for it. I like to see it done.

As a thought the 2.7 chrysler v6 is shorter than a 2.4, and all chrysler v6's are based off the 3.0 so you could use any of them

Ive seen one V6 swap on a neon, and it was still front wheel drive. They used a 3.3 with a roots type supercharger. To me its seems installing a V6 is a waste of effort. The 2.4 is an easy swap and has plenty of potential. Hell, the 2.0 DOHC has a shit ton of potential. I watched a video of one hit 698whp.

If you really want to do a V6 or V8 rear wheel drive neon, you will have to make several chassis modifications. The car must be back-halved to do it right. You would need to weld in a full roll cage, and weld in sub frame connectors as well. You would also have to triangulate the front sub frame. Come to think of it, you may be better off building a tube frame chassis and putting neon body panels on it.

If I had to try I might take a look at the 2.5 V6 that is in the Avenger/Sebring. I know that the 420a came in both of them and had the available V6 that there might be some where to start.

2.5 V6 was a Mitsubishi engine, and a very weak one at that.

Why would you do all that extra work for a 2.5L V6 with very little aftermarket when you can get a 2.4L to fit real nice and have all kinds of aftermarket for it?
