3.0l air intake

Did you buy a part and think it was awesome, or did you think it was a piece of crap? Let everyone know here so we know not to buy the same product.

3.0l air intake

Post by fusion210 » Sat Feb 17, 2007 5:13 pm

Here is what I ended up with.

Simply put, for the money, this is the best mod you can do!
You'll feel it, it's cheap, and easy.
I used...
A 'breather filter' for the valve cover, formerly where the fresh air tube connected to the stock air intake tube went.
A 3.0l tube I got for free from the junkyard. At the junkyard here they are 50 cents anyway, I love seeing people sell them for $15 though, sheesh.
2.5" exhaust pipe, that was like $4.
2.5"-3" transition, $14ish (for exhaust)
Go with a 3" K&N, that filter in the picture above was free from my friend.

You will need to hack off the front of the battery tray and/or get a smaller battery/relocate it.
I kinda went nuts, but you can see the front cut off.

I'd do this over an iceman unless the iceman was cheap!

I'm working on mine this WE. There's no vehicles over here with the 3.0 so I'll have to be creative ;)

The dodge shadow, caravan, lebaron, spirit/aries, daytona, and early 90' mercedes came with the chrysler 3.0L engine. The stock intake tube will flow more air than the stock neon intake, so there is a gain to be had there. The iceman does it better, hence the price difference. Perhaps I'll get some pics up for illustration purposes.

Yes. Saw a 91 300SE with a 3.0L engine at the yard here.
