Maddog STS

Post by Lackof » Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:15 pm

Simply amazing product. I can shift with the flick of my fingers instead of moving my whole wrist forward to shift.Chuck is a great guy to do business with.

You can get the sts at the following link....
http://www.maddogsts.com/index.php

I purchased the 65% STS with the rod brake. The rod brake provides people that shift hard a chance of saving their gear selectors from breaking and preventing bending of their shifting forks. All in all it cost me 150 bux shipped and i get 35 bux back on the core charge when i send my stock shifter back to chuck. So it was really 115 for the whole setup. Great price for an excellent peice. Took roughly 1-week n a half for to arrive and i ordered on thursday/friday.

BTW I have the 65% heavy-duty Maddog "Race" model without the stops (got mine before he offered that feature), and it is awesome. Highly recommended.

I had one in my SOHC and NYG, whatever throw he had was the highest. It was damn nice but my friend seemed to have trouble finding 2nd gear. I may pick one up again but I'm content with my stock shifter right now, I can shift damn fast so it's not high on my list of stuff to do.

yah i dunno what it is maybe it's his shifters, but after i got this installed and went for a test drive i missed 2nd over and over ... prob. a max of 4 times throughout my pulls on the highway. It also seems that first is really really hard to slide into when your just sitting at a stop light. You get used to it and now i can hit 2nd all the time, but 1st is still tough. I had to jam it into gear today, which concerned me a lil.

I never had a problem with it but she did. She said my car was a POS cuz it didn't have power steering and she couldn't get it into 2nd gear. She was just retarded tho.

How did it only cost 150 shipped. The shifter is 100+25 for rod break+35 core charge=160 not counting shipping.

I have a 2nd Gen Maddog and I'd like to say his products are top notch! I've met Chuck in person and he's a stand up guy as well!

I've had my 65% for just over a year now and I love it. When I ordered it, I had Chuck thread it for a Skunk 2 shift knob (almost 1lb in weight). The shifting compared to stock is Astounding. After driving my buddys 99 R/T with a stock shifter, I will never go back. Hell sometimes I think it shifts better than my brothers 93 VR4. Heres a quick pick, yes I know my car is dirty.
