A cavalier trans is a Getrag unit VS our New Venture Gear. Even though NVG was a joint venture between GM and Chrysler, it was used in very few if any GM vehicles that I know of.

I'd bet on bad heater core. Loop your coolant system, go to a car wash, blast water through the heater core with the wand. High pressure for the win. Worked for me on my two previous cars. The passages are quite small in a heater core and get clogged up easy with age. If that doesn't solve your prob...

Unless you are getting lifetime warranty on the KYB just use your stock struts if they are still good. It is not worth the money if you are going to use high rate lowering springs. The mopar high rates are about the max I would use on new struts if you wanted them to last any length of time. If you ...

Get rid of those Bosch plugs too.

With an auto trans as mentioned you would need to do a lot to make decent times. Manual swap will be the best bang for your buck since your mods are very minimal at this point.

If the state/province does not require emissions... screw it. One less thing to get in the way. I have no cat and have none of this "raspyness" you speak of.

Full 2.5" or 3" no cat or resonator with a magnaflow at the back in stock position. Keeps things quiet enough for a DD and loud enough to give you a good tone when you are bootin' it. I have this setup and with Crane 16's it sounds bad ass.

Shitty. Do it yourself!! :D The gasket will be about $30 bucks. May as well grab new head bolts if you are keeping the car. Change the exhaust manifold gasket while you are in there if it is a DOHC and check for any broken studs on the head. Easier to get em out with the head off. Should be a day or...

Call up an auto parts store and find out the cost on the gasket. If you are unsure if it is the head gasket or not, get it looked at by a professional mechanic. Before you go spending money on the head gasket make sure it is not something simple. Check for coolant loss or oil mixed with the coolant....

Sounds like a weak alt not making enough voltage @ idle. You can go to a local auto parts place and usually they will check your whole charging system for free.
