My neons clutch starts grabbing like right off the floor, and fully grabs near the top of its travel. The clutch and flywheel are both brand new with like 5,000 miles on them.

I think what you're feeling is the lock-up torque converter. Nothing to worry about.

Did you check the fluid?
NVT-350s are easy to find, just go to any junkyard and take all the 5 speed goodies off another neon.

Bought my 97 SOHC for $100 with a bad alternator. No rust anywhere, good paint except for 3 spots and the motor runs great.

get a new set of wires, they're cheap. IDK about the cluster, maybe a loose solder joint.

Probably just a dealer add-on thing. I've seen a few of those before.

Yeah I wanted to go with a different tire size but I ended up getting stock tires cause my dad bought them. I was going to buy 15" wheels off an 86 turbo Shelby Charger but next time I went to the junkyard the car was crushed, so I forgot about that idea.

Nice kill! 4x4 vehicles have good low end torque to get moving, that's why he got a jump on you. But I wouldn't worry about catching up!
I wouldn't do a burnout in my neon like that ever. I don't want it to break!

175/70/14 versus 185/65/14

So I got 4 new tires for my neon, Futura 175/70/14's. They are the next step up from the cheap ones and seem like very good tires. But they have an awful lot of sidewall flex. The old tires were the same size Firestone 680 and were almost completely bald, they didn't have as much sidewall flex as th...

If the noise goes away or gets louder when you're turning then it's most likely a wheel bearing.

Squeaking could be slightly dragging brakes or a wheel bearing. Had this issue on one of my cars and it turns out the rear brakes were at fault. New pads and rotors solved it. Any specifics as to where it's coming from? Front, rear, left or right? I seriously doubt it's a hubcap. And the exhaust rat...

My 3.55 SOHC would chirp second on dry roads, maybe with a little wheelhop but nothing more than that.

If you want a lightweight flywheel you will need a non-modular clutch (AFAIK). Both modular and non-modular are good. Non-modular isn't hard to install like everybody says, just take 2 extra minutes to line up the disc, very simple to do.
